Fit To Be Simmered

Not on Ozempic and still want to retain the benefits of the workouts you’ve done for that Summer body?

You’ve been eating right, walking your 10,000 steps, and sweated it out to the oldies. It is time for those forever-planned vacations wearing beach-friendly outfits.

As always, The Magazine does not promote unhealthy or drastic beauty standards. But, we know you all want to keep your physiques looking cool-hot June through August.

It’s not easy to maintain health regimens when it’s hot as Mercury and no Barre Burn in sight.

What to do?

The $cience

Disregulation of metabolic activities and inflammatory pathways promote loss of elasticity, increase in fat storage and growth of lipocytes. A little movement, a dab of chemistry, and a bite of antioxidants counter that. Stay firm with these simple anti-inflammatory methods.

Hit the Mat

We must move and maintain strength to keep digestion and metabolism optimal. Tracy Anderson mini workouts work wonders in a short time frame. Focusing on one muscular area usually incorporates all areas. Whole body movement is involved with most of her moves and 15-minute workouts can be found online on Goop, her IG, or YouTube. Another option is to choose an arm, ab or leg move that’s easy to do in your bungalow before heading out for the day.

Nobody’s looking like Lana Turner except Lana Turner. But moving a bit every day can keep legs and arms from veering off to Flabville, USA. We have found that Tracy Anderson’s moves can help tone quickly.

Smooth on the Crème de la Crème

Moisturized skin always looks healthier and tends to hide unwanted bumps. A lot of products are available to smooth out cellulite or firm up unfirm skin. Surprisingly, Trader Joe’s has a vitamin c firming cream that actually adds tautness right away. We found that a few days of missed workouts won’t matter with daily use of this. A variety of citrus extracts, like grapefruit, lemon and orange, help improve skin elasticity and brightness.

Get Fruity

Fill up your plate with fresh seasonal fruits before piling on ice cream and cakes. The fiber and water in fruits helps keep you satiated and hydrated, so you are less likely to attempt your own Nathan’s hot dogs contest. Your body might actively fight off fat while lounging on the beach chair, too. Strawberries can help metabolize bad white fat into good brown fat, which burns energy more effectively. The anti-inflammatories in fruits also help fight cellulite, which is linked to inflammatory responses.
