Dior Does the Blues
FOR lips THAT resemble that of a corpse
Lipstick. I don’t normally stray from the traditional reds, pinks, and nudes. In my decades of cosmetics research, I have concluded that coloring any part of the face with unconventional hues requires finesse and quality formulations. I mean, who wants to be mistaken for wearing a 25th hour Halloween costume in December?
Rouge Dior Visionary Matte (602) is a blue. Uhm, for your lips. But Dior does this odd color right.
The matte isn’t drying. A slight hydration to the lips is partially due to the addition of C10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters, which make skin soft and smooth. Candellila Wax helps the lipstick glide on instead of catching on certain areas of the lip causing that start-stop look. A lot of emollients are added to keep lips from drying out, but they also allow the lips to get a plumped up hydrated effect. This is dope because a lot of matte lip products can dry out lips and leave them looking pretty thin. Hello 90’s brick matte over-lined lip.
Heads Up:
Do a test if you are particularly sensitive. There are a couple of skin and eye irritants here- octyldodecanol, polyethylene, citral, benzyl benzoate.
Don’t wear this without a lip primer or when you plan to eat. The wear off is not attractive. Your lips will resemble that of a corpse.
Don’t wear it to a job interview unless you are in the music, fashion, or art industries.
Props to Dior
Love the color, love the feel, love the look.
IT is pretty difficult to get a bold, unusual lip color like this dark blue to look good.
the morbid kind of good.
